Currency & Coin Vault
The Currency & Coin Vault (CCV) Study measures the performance of operations of a consortium of banks with assets in excess of $5 billion. Core objectives of this study include identifying key profile, productivity, cost, quality, and timeliness measures for comparing centralized CCV operations; assisting participating banks in assessing strengths and opportunities in their CCV operations; and comparing the use and assessing the effectiveness of outsourcing and co-sourcing arrangements in CCV operations.
Global Concepts recognizes the importance of breaking a process down into its component parts. By dissecting a process, we can clearly identify the areas of opportunity in a particular CCV operation.
The CCV Study includes the following functions:
- Controlled Receipt of Deposit
- Deposit Processing
- Vault/Inventory Operations
- Cash Orders
- Balancing and Settlement
- Bulk Coin
- Customer Service & Research
Study Objectives:We utilize a six-phase process that not only ensures an "apples to apples" comparison, but also allows participants to use the study findings in the management of their operations. This six-phase process includes a survey definition process; a data collection phase; a data validation and preliminary analysis stage; a preliminary results and peer review stage; final results analysis and process reviews; and a presentation of study results phase.
Global Concepts also holds individual meetings with each participating bank to discuss areas of opportunity and ways for the institution to capitalize on its strengths. Some participants use these meetings as strategic planning sessions where product, operations, and systems areas come together to determine how to improve their operations and products. Others use the opportunity to allow operational personnel to hear and ask questions regarding industry "best practices."
