Rob Hayden - Senior Expert

Rob Hayden is a consultant and analyst in payments systems strategy and profitability. He has expertise in strategic payments planning, operational process improvement, and cost benefit justification modeling. Rob excels in utilizing performance metrics to drive process improvement and shape strategic direction.

Rob joined Global Concepts in November 2004. He has been involved with a variety of consulting engagements and research projects, including profitability analysis and strategic planning development. Recent engagements include:

  • Assessing the capabilities of a third-party outsourcer to enter into the image-enabled check processing and clearing environment.
  • Leading a research study to measure the significance of embedded spaces and dashes in the MICR line of substitute checks.
  • Performing a strategic analysis of a major financial institutions revenues, costs, and profits resulting from payment systems.
  • Developing an assessment of the current and future image exchange environment within the United States including projected volumes, timelines, and participating financial institutions.

Rob brings eleven years of experience in the United States Payment System to Global Concepts. He has experience in the Credit Card industry having spent four years at a leading Credit Card institution. Immediately prior to joining Global Concepts, he spent seven years with a major bank in Cleveland, Ohio. Rob was a member of the senior management team for Operations and Call Centers, where his primary duties included leading: Payments System strategic development, finance, Float and Electronic Check Presentment, Process Re-Engineering, Performance Reporting and Analytics, and Industry Benchmarking.

He has also served on several industry groups and inter-bank efforts with the specific purpose of positioning the bank to be an industry leader in Operations. Primary responsibilities included:                        

  • Assessing the Corporate Cash Management product set.
  • Developing and executing the image exchange strategy.
  • Partnering with Corporate Cash Management to develop a Remote Client Capture product, including assessing and selecting vendor applications.
  • Creating client segment profiles identifying the most attractive and appropriate products for groups of corporate customers.
  • Utilizing performance statistics, in conjunction with process re-engineering tools to improve overall operational efficiency by closing performance gaps between operational sites.
Rob is a graduate of Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Finance and Management.
