Tom Welander joined Global Concepts in March 2006 as a survey research methodologist, contributing an essential level of quantitative and methodological rigor to the firm’s primary research.
Tom’s 15 years’ of experience in the marketing research industry spans financial services, consumer package goods, information technology, health care, food & beverage, media, travel, apparel, and energy. His expertise includes the entire research process from developing objectives to research design, data collection to data analysis, and from reporting to delivery.
Tom has applied these skills to numerous Global Concepts research efforts, including key roles in studies on Drivers and Trends in Bill Payment Practices and DDA Optimization, and the special report - Opportunities to Provide International Treasury Services to US Middle Market Companies.
Tom’s notable talents include conjoint and discrete choice methodologies, experimental design, multivariate statistics, customer satisfaction & retention modeling, new product optimization and pricing, and database scoring. He also writes software applications that bundle research results into simulators that allow decision makers to test "what if" scenarios and view marketplace responses.
Tom holds a Master of Marketing Research from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and a Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College.
